Ep 185: Konoha Hidden Village's Legend! Onbaa Really Did Exist!

Deep in the forest, an eagle grabs something from a nest. A large creature growls angrily. The eagle drops the thing onto Naruto. Naruto returns to Konoha and is greeted by Akamaru who Kiba interprets as being smelly. Sakura comes over and notices his ripped pants and offers to sew it for him. A hairy arm reaches out and grabs Sakura's breast. Sakura kicks Naruto back against the wall. Now they all notice that there's a creature on his back who says "Onbu" (carry me). They try to pull it off but fail.

They go to Tsunade who tells them the legend of the Onbaa, a dangerous hairy bearlike creature who lives in the mountains. One day Jiraiya wanted to research the Onbaa for his project during summer break and entered the forest.

Flashback to the sannin as kids. Tsuande and Jiraiya argue over the existence of the onbaa and Orochimaru bets on Jiraiya.

Tsunade hands Naruto an old journal where Jiraiya recorded his experience. Onbaa is big up to 3 meters and scary but he beat him in sumo wrestling. The Onbaa young likes to be carried on the back. Tsunade adds that the first thing it sees it thinks is its parent and will cling to the back and grow until it's an adult.

Upon seeing Naruto with something on his back, Lee carries a huge rock on his. Hinata stalks Naruto and tells him about a rumor that he has a kid, but when she sees the Onbaa, she faints.

Naruto eats pizza and tries to feed the creature but it doesn't like it. Then it pees on him. Naruto has to take a bath with his clothes on. At the ramen stand Teuchi complains no pets allowed because of insurance, but Naruto begs for a pass. Ayame thinks it's cute and asks for its name so Naruto decides to call it Onbu since that's all it says. Onbu likes the naruto (spiral shape fish cake).

Naruto performs his odd jobs with the Onbu on its back and it’s getting huge. Tsunade gives him a mission to go to Yamabuki to clear out bandits. Naruto thinks she's just trying to get rid of Onbu. On the way they suffer through rainstorms and eat naruto together. Now Onbu is about Naruto's size. They finally arrive at the walls of the village and the bandits attack. Naruto does kage bunshin and his clones and clone of Onbu are destroyed. Naruto quickly takes them out with Onbu's help. He's now bigger than Naruto.

On their way back to Konoha, they are followed by an Onbaa the mother of Onbu. It's huge and it wants its kid back. The Onbaa hits Naruto who finally separates from Onbu from the blow and falls off a cliff. Onbu transforms to a mini-Onbaa and is now dangerous. Both Onbaa attack Naruto. Naruto tries desperately to get his Onbaa to remember and finally by the swirl on his back it remembers him and stops his mom from attacking. Naruto is now exhausted and falls asleep. The Onbaa carry him back to Konoha where Naruto finds everyone has an Onbaa on his/her back.

Thoughts:

Onbu are legendary means they should be rare not prolific.

Naruto should not be out of chakra so easily.
