Ep 113: Full Power! Burn Choji

The earth dome crumbles. Neji activates his byakugan and says the others are not nearby. Kiba uses tsuuga and Naruto uses kage bunshin to attack Jiroubou but he defeats them easily. Then he uses shoulder strike against Kiba and knee strike against Naruto. Jiroubou tries his doton kekkai doro douma (earth barrier mud dome) again but Choji counters with his baika no jutsu nikudan sensha (double size technique, human cannon ball). Choji spins around and when the dust clears, the team is gone from Jiroubou’s sight.

Shikamaru has a team meeting and says they need to split up into two teams. Naruto asks why and Neji explains that Jiroubou will not be easy to defeat and if they waste time with him, Sasuke will cross the border into Sound. They need two teams, one to stop Jiroubou and the other to pursue Sasuke. Shikamaru is about to make Neji second-in-command when Jiroubou destroys the area around them. Shikamaru tells Neji to take Kiba and Choji while he and Naruto fight Jiroubou. Jiroubou says the shadow bind is easy to deal with once you know of it. Shikamaru’s shadow creeps up from behind Jiroubou but he destroys the ground under him. Kiba smells Jiroubou coming from behind them. Jiroubou lifts up a huge ball of earth (doton doryou dango = earth move – mud ball) and throws it at the team but they jump out of the way. Then a hand appears from the ground. Jiroubou grabs Shikamaru’s legs and tosses him away. Choji uses his double weight/cannonball technique and saves Shikamaru from hitting the ground. Jiroubou continues to call them trash and Shikamaru stupid. Naruto threatens to fight him again but then Choji steps in and says he’ll fight Jiroubou. He gives Shikamaru a bag of soldier pills for everyone. He then takes a green spinach pill and is able to stop Jiroubou’s charge and tells the rest of the team to go. Choji pushes Jiroubou back then lifts him up over his head and throws him into a tree.

Naruto, Kiba and Akamaru each take a soldier pill. Neji asks about the pill Choji took. Shikamaru explains those are the top secret pills of the Akimichi clan which gives an explosive burst of power. Shikamaru thinks there are side effects and for Choji to finish with just the green pill and no matter what don’t take the red pill.

Choji strings kunais all around him and uses baika no jutsu to become nikudan hari sensha (spiked human cannon ball) and rolls toward Jiroubou. Jiroubou jumps out of the way and thinks the kunais increase both the rotation speed and destructive force. Choji rolls toward him but Jiroubou uses doton doroku gaeshi (earth move-mud shield). A rectagular wall of earth appears in front of him but the ball crashes through it and pushes him back. The kunais cut into his leg and waist.

Kiba says that Akamaru can sense someone’s power via smell and he’s worried whether Choji’s pills can defeat him. Neji agrees that they don’t really know his power but that’s what’s a battle all about.

Jiroubou has activated his cursed seal and uses crushing fist against Choji who is punched back and returns to his normal size. Jiroubou insults him, saying he’s the piece of trash in his group who everyone makes fun of and is first to be left behind. Flashback to Asuma, Ino, Naruto, Kiba all insulting him. Choji is breathing hard. Jiroubou runs towards him and hits him with a shoulder charge and knee strike. Choji gets beat up and lies on the ground while butterflies hover over him. He thinks of Shikamaru’s trust in him and gets up and takes the yellow curry pill.

Shikamaru says he had imagined a worse case scenario with everyone being separated and in a one-on-one fight. He says Choji lacks self confidence but he knows that Choji is stronger than any of them.

Choji’s chakra swirls around him and he uses bubun baika no jutsu (partial double size technique) and his arm…

Jiroubou thinks the kunais increase both the rotation speed and destructive force, but a smooth ball encounters less friction and should rotate faster than a spiked one.
