Ep 208: A Rare Item. The Heaviness of the Beauties of Nature

A crane lifts a large safe. Naruto’s new mission is to escort the rare item “Kachou Fuugetsu” - a very valuable treasure worth enough to buy a mountain or two - to Habotangai where it will be on exhibition. It’s just a tea set. Kiba is also assigned to the mission.

The large safe falls and the client orders them to stop it from falling. Naruto and Kiba prop it up with wood logs and the client takes the tea set box from the safe. Naruto asks for help but the client says they can die since ninja are supposed to die for their missions. Kiba and Naruto are ready to kill him.

The three walk along and come to a bridge where the client drops the tea set into the river below. He gives a rope to Naruto to bungee jump. Naruto grabs the treasure but the rope breaks he goes over the waterfall. Luckily, the tea set is fine. The client cares nothing for Naruto’s life. Naruto wants to rasengan him very badly.

The three enter a town but are stopped by a gang since the client holds the box too protectively. Naruto and Kiba pretend the box is nothing but he tells them it’s a precious treasure more value than life. The gang members take out swords and the three run away. They split up but the gang continues to follow. The client runs off by himself while Naruto and Kiba confront the gang.

The client sits by a teahouse sipping tea unharmed while Kiba and Naruto are exhausted and beaten up. Meanwhile, a bird watches and reports to another gang about the treasure.

As the three continue walking, they’re attacked by kunai. They dodge, but the enemy throws a smokebomb. Naruto does his usual kage bunshin, while Kiba and Akamaru use their sense of smell and Gijuu ninpou, Juujin Bunshin and Gatsuuga to attack, and dynamic marking to mark the enemy. But the client calls out when he is marked by accident and is caught by the enemy. The treasure is taken.

Naruto follows Kiba and Akamaru who follow the scent of Akamaru’s dynamic marking. The client steps on a trap which warns the enemy. The leader of the gang runs off with the treasure across a rope bridge. The client follows and runs across the bridge and struggles with the leader for the treasure. Meanwhile Kiba and Naruto defeat the other gang members.

The client says the treasure is more important than a human life. He beats up on the bad guy and gets the treasure back. He walks back across the rope bridge which is secured by Naruto and Kiba, but the leader pulls a rope to cause the caves to collapse. A large rock blocks his way so the client tells them to take the treasure, but the ground crumbles underneath him and he loses the treasure. Naruto tries to grab him but the client goes after the treasure. The treasure falls down the abyss.

As he recalls all the things he said about dying for the treasure and how its more valuable than life, he realizes he was wrong as he is about to die. He doesn’t want to die. At the last second he is saved by a chain of Naruto clones. He sees the broken tea set and sheds a tear but gives Naruto the thumbs up.

In town they see a poster of the client and the tea set. Naruto and Kiba are upset that they failed their mission, but the client says he just needs to make another one. He was the one who created the Kachou Fuugetsu and he is called “The Living National Treasure Shin’emon”

Review: He is the worst possible client!

Notes:
Kachou Fuugetsu = name of the tea set
Shin’emon = client
Habotangai = town within a few days of Konoha

Thoughts:
The client was able to beat up the bad guy by himself. These bad guys are getting lamer and lamer.
