Ep 190: Byakugan Saw It! The Magnet User's Blind Spot!

Shizune and Tsunade discuss the coup d’etat in Nano Country. The palace guards had conspired with someone. Naruto should have crossed the border into the other country by now. Tsunade thinks the mission and the coup are tied to each other and tells Shizune to gather up the available shinobi and send them to stop the coup in case it spreads to other countries.

Jiga continues to blast Naruto with rocks but Naruto stands up after each hit. Then Jiga announces Jishaku ninpou, denji genmu (magnetic ninja arts, electric phantasms) and sparks of electricity envelop Naruto. Hinata screams, but Jigaa explains Naruto cannot hear her since he changed the magnetic polarity of Naruto’s brain and his ability to think. Naruto stands there as if in a daze while Jiga throws his chain around him which is magnetic, and then a kunai with an explosive tag. The explosion buries Naruto rocks.

Hinata runs down to unbury him but Naruto tells her to run away. Hinata resolves to rescue him and activates her byakugan. Jiga announces Denji genma (electric demonic illusions) while Hinata uses Shugo Hakke, rokujuuyonshou. She spins around with her arms flailing while a cloud of black dust surrounds her. Her movements repel the dust. Jiga throws his ball and chain at her, but Hinata grabs the chain and gets in close. She strikes him several times in the torso but he is unaffected. The ball and chain wraps around her right wrist and he sends her flying to the cliff wall. Hinata throws her kunai but they are attracted to the magnetic ball. Jiga pats his body then touches the kunai to demagnetize them.

Jiga warns her to tell him where the princess is in order to save Naruto but Hinata knows if she did talk, Naruto would never forgive her. Jiga says he'll change her brainwaves with a strong magnetic field and regardless of how she moves, the magnetic polarity will change accordingly. He sends kunai flying at her but Hinata throws a kunai with an explosive tag to stop them. She disappears from his sight but leaves a trail of blood since her left shoulder is injured. Naruto still can't move.

Jiga chases her through the forest. Hinata’s byakugan can see he's catching up. She has a shard of a broken kunai in her hand and realizes it's coated with iron sand. She infers that his technique is able to convert things he touches into magnets after touching his body and the reason why he didn't attack her earlier was so that he could get rid of the iron sand that was in his body. She thinks she should get him to drown in his own iron sand. She analyzes his attack patterns as a combination of magnetic ninja arts and iron sand illusionary techniques. He switches his magnetic power on and off so that his own body will not becomes a magnet.

Jiga catches up, but Hinata can see his chakra circulatory system. He catches Hinata again by the wrist with his chain and pulls her toward him. Hinata prepares for a final blow but he blocks and hits her in the stomach. But she strikes him in the stomach as well, and then rushes him. They both go over the cliff. When they land, Jiga pushes Hinata away, but he is being covered with iron sand. Hinata explains she just put an interfering electric current into his chakra. Now his body will become a powerful magnet and that's why she brought him to this sandy area. Jiga gets pull down into the sand but Hinata does too.

Chouji and Yurinojou save Naruto and they rush to find Hinata. Naruto forms a clone chain to grab her. He’s impressed she managed to defeat someone he couldn’t. She returns his forehead protector and tells him to go after the princess.

Meanwhile they’re being watched by the last criminal brother and his minions.

Naruto finds the princess, but when she wakes she pushes him into a creek. She says she ran away because she can't count on him. Only she needs to survive to revive Nano Country with the help of another country. Naruto wonders what it would be like to live in Nano Country and he says he wouldn’t want to protect a feudal lord like her. She tells him how she was kept hostage and was watched all the time. She became sick from the stress. Naruto says he’ll continue to protect her as a promise to Hinata and that if they get through this valley, they'll get to Jyoka Village and the bad guys won't chase them that far. He takes her hand and they start running.

Chouji, Yurinojou and Hinata follow slowly, but then they’re surrounded by ninja. Something attacks Chouji.

Naruto and the princess make it within sight of Jyoka Village, but something makes the princess trip. Then the ground explodes. The last criminal brother appears.

Review: Some nice strategy and moves by Hinata.

Notes:

Jiga = Rui? (Dattebayo fansubs used Jiga in previous episodes but appear to use Rui here.)

Denji genma = electric demonic illusions

Jyoka Village

The human brain has faint cavities that allow currents to flow through them, allowing the brain to function. By changing the magnetic polarity, the interference stops the ability to think.

Thoughts:

The explanation of Jiga’s powers as translated isn’t clear. It seems that he can extract iron from his body as iron powder which he can magnetized or demagnetize. He uses the iron powder to coat nonmetallic objects. He also has the ability to magnetize/demagnetize metal like his weapons. Hinata turns his body into a magnet and it attracts the iron around him so he sinks into the sand.
