Ep 137: The Town of Outlaws, Shadows of the Fuuma Clan

In what appears to be an abandoned temple, the team is looking over a map. Jiraiya points out another lodging town. When they arrive there a fight breaks out and Sakura wants to leave, but Jiraiya is transfixed by a billboard advertisement. He gives them his money bag and tells them to wait on the edge of town while he investigates. Sakura and Naruto walk along the road and the ninja from the other day staggers hurt in front of them. Kunais fly and Naruto grabs the girl away. Sakura engages an enemy in hand to hand kunai combat while another attacks Naruto. Naruto and Sakura look like they've been cut down but they used kawarimi and logs fall to the ground. There are actually 3 enemies, one appears from the ground, the one who fought Sakura has spiders at his command, and the one against Naruto has a strange curved double edged weapon/shield on his right arm (weapon looks like a pincher claw). They realize Sakura and Naruto are shinobis from another country and are probably after Orochimaru.

Meanwhile Jiraiya is at a brothel with two prostitutes, trying to get information on Sound Village. He offers them extra money but they don't know anything. A much more beautiful prostitute tells Jiraiya she knows someone who knows and takes him to an alley where he is trapped and surrounded by archers. The arrows fly but rebound off Jiraiya who uses ninpou hari jizou (guardian spines). The leader of the group tells him they are ninja and attacks with his huge sword using Fuuma ninken Zanbatou (Fuuma nin sword, slicing blade). But Jiraiya hits him with Rasengan and he crashes against the wall. The leader gets back up then gets down on his knees and kowtows to Jiraiya. He apologizes and asks for his name. Jiraiya poses and goes on about how woman go crazy over him...the great Jiraiya-sama. The leader recognizes him as one of the legendary sannin. Jiraiya asks him about Hidden Sound Village. The leader tells him in Rice Field Country there were many shinobi clans...until Orochimaru appeared.

Meanwhile Naruto and Sakura are in the temple with the masked ninja. She wakes and Sakura offers to treat her wound while Naruto is thrown outside to wait. She takes off her mask to reveal a pretty girl with long orange hair. Sakura rubs ointment on her shoulder. When Naruto sees the girl he realizes he grabbed her chest when he saved her. Her name is Fuuma Sasame. She tells them the men after her were Sound nin guards of the mansion of Orochimaru. The Rice Field Country's feudal lord wanted to increase his supply of provisions and a war had just begun in the Kingin Country. Rice Field Country is a small country and it was a hopeless war they were going to lose and the shinobis suffered terribly. Some became thieves, but others hoped for their clan's revival and continued to survive. The Sound Village's messenger (Kimimaro in flashback) tells them Orochimaru is interested in the jutsu of their clan and they can be of service to the feudal lord if they work for him. Her cousin Arashi was the clan's hope of revival. He went with the messenger as the clan's representative, but he was never heard from again. She wants to go to Sound Village and bring him back.

A spider drops down on Sasame’s shoulder. Sakura looks up to see an entire ceiling of spiders. Naruto opens the doors to find the building enshrouded in spider webs and a voice announcing ninpou Kazagumo (windmill cloud). Sakura says he is using Utsusemi no jutsu (projection technique). Naruto uses tajuu kage bunshin and hundreds of Narutos appear. Kagerou counters with ninpou Daijigoku no jutsu (Big Hell Technique). The ground shakes, the temple collapses, and everything gets sucked under.

Kagerou - earth jutsu user, name means ant lion

Kamikiri (appears to have been misnamed as Shouichi by Dattebyou in this ep) - guy with pinchers on right arm

Jigumo - (appears to have been misnamed as Jiroubou by Dattebyou in this ep) - spider guy

Kingin Country was at war with Rice Field Country
